Energy-Efficient Water Underfloor Heating
Water-based underfloor heating distributes heat evenly across a large floor area, helping maintain consistent temperatures throughout the space. Unlike conventional radiators, which concentrate heat in specific locations, UFH effectively turns the entire floor into a low-temperature heat emitter.
Because of this larger heating surface, a correctly designed UFH system can generally operate at lower water temperatures than conventional radiator systems. This makes it particularly suitable for use with compatible heat pumps and can support efficient heating performance in well-insulated retrofit, renovation and new-build projects.
Actual energy use and operating temperatures will depend on the property’s heat loss, insulation, floor construction, controls, heat source and overall system design.
